Bill LaFontaine

Bill LaFontaine, co-owner and co-founder of Eagle Ridge Fire Academy, brings 29 years of United States Army Special Operations experience to our training classes. A retired Colonel, with service in 1st and 12th Special Forces Groups, as well as US Army Special Forces Command. He is a qualified expert with most US and foreign small arms and light weapons. Bill has over 47 months as a Special Forces Operational Detachment – Alpha commander, giving him extensive experience in small unit tactics, Direct Action, CQB, Foreign Internal Defense and Special Reconnaissance. Bill served his nation in combat with the 173rd Airborne Brigade in Afghanistan in 2004-2005

A dedicated member of the NRA, Bill is multi-discipline NRA instructor qualified. His certifications include: Pistol, Personal Protection in The Home, Personal Protection Outside The Home, and Chief Range Safety Officer (CRSO). He is also a graduate of the 4 Day Defensive Hand Gun Course from the prestigious Front Sight Firearms Training Institute.
